Our Story

Buying Thyme recognizes that mealtimes have changed. We know hectic work schedules, driving to and from your children's activities and running errands leave us with very little time at the end of the day to shop and prepare a meal.

While Buying Thyme can't help at the office, take your child to practice, or do your laundry, we can grocery shop and prepare your dinner, even wash up the pots and pans, leaving you with the time to enjoy your meals with friends and family!

Founder Karen Andrew is the former owner of Via Lago Café in Arlington. She is a chef, caterer, and mother who brings with her not just her cooking ability, but the knowledge of what it's like to not have enough time in a day to get everything accomplished, let alone eat well and enjoy the company around you. Listening to busy parents and customers over the years made her realize that only by simplifying our schedules would life get easier.

Karen hopes Buying Thyme will simplify your life and give you the time to bring your friends and family together around your own table to enjoy good food and conversation.
